Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the best ways to improve your equipment without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upp your gear effectively.
Upgrading equipment grants a bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus is according to the rarity and level of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components make your armour and weapons better. They can be obtained by destroying enemies, finding them in item spheres, or buying them from karma dealers. You can also get them from equipment that contains the components or by using high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed when they are removed from the item.
Upgrade components are primarily used to upgrade an item, however, they can also be used for other reasons. They can be stacked to increase the quality of an item that can be upgraded or they can be used to increase the amount of experience gained from upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can be forged for additional benefits. For instance, a specially created glyph can increase the upgrade chance of its target, while an upgrade boost will increase the attack or defense attribute of a weapon or armor.
You can connect an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. It will display the list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. Alternately, you can make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has a distinct experience multiplier, which affects how much more experience an item will gain when it is upgraded by the component. Organic components, for instance, have a higher multiplier of experience than mechanical components. You should upgrade the organic components first, until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment then switch to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the experience multiplier Each item also comes with a maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of upgrades is determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. For example, the highest possible weapon upgrade is a weapon with tier 10. The most common weapon upgrade is a gun of tier 6 and a armor upgrade for tier 5.
Sets
A set is a group of items that share bonuses. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once, and the upgrade will increase the guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade a set piece or weapon is that it will be given a +1 increase to its primary stat. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats are boosted even further (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its stats will increase randomly.
Upgrades can also boost the damage base of a weapon. This may be important for certain types of builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to a higher maximum defense roll than their normal base. Upgrading can be a good method to increase the value of some set and unique items, but it's important to note that they may not be better than a high-level runeword in any build.
If you're upgrading an item that comes with bonuses it can be rerolled once, and its guarantee will reset back to 0. Rerolling is the same amount of power dice as the process of leveling an item, but the upgraded item will come with different extra bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll need a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased using Gold. The NPC will also give an additional reward for each tier of the upgrade process. The reward can be rerolled a single time, using the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
If the player has enough tokens for rerolling, they can reroll any item that they've accumulated during the game. When an upgraded item gets to be rerolled, it will be exchanged for an equivalent version that is level 1 of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased at the store for a small amount of in-game currency, but they cannot be refunded. The new item will offer the same bonuses as the previous one, but the stats will be different.
In addition to rerolling items, players can also alter the identification of any equipment by engaging with an upgrader NPC. The equipment's identification will change from a weapon to an armor or vice versa. Its base stats and requirements will remain the same. The change will last for a long time and affect all characters who own the equipment.
Players can also increase the level of their item on any equipped equipment by acquiring upgrade items and conversing with the NPC who upgrades the item. It will cost a specific amount of crests as well as Valorstones according to the upgrade track and the item type. In the case of weapons, each step up will add an additional 5% to its damage.
Upgrades can increase the capability of an item, however they also can decrease its quality. It is therefore important to strike a balance between the two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading at all and some will require to be upgraded to maximize their potential. A player might want to upgrade the breakpoint armor by adding an interesting modification ( percent block chance, or FHR) in order to discover what it could be.
Rerolling is a popular practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People use it to gain access to the character or weapon they cannot otherwise get. The process of obtaining these items can be costly and time-consuming and the RNG gods do not always want to play. The only choices left are to invest real money or grind a lot. For this reason, rerolling is a popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling

You can select whether to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I believe that this feature was intended to give value to rare and expensive items. However, as item upgrades is replaced fairly quickly, and it can only be upgraded by one level, you will generally replace it before it becomes too old. It's not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets as the power of the gem will far outweigh the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
When you click on the upgrade option on an item, you will see a small window with the upgrade template of the item as well as the cost of crest and Valorstone to boost the level of the item. Armor and weapons have different prices, with the latter generally being more expensive. The upgrade template outlines the stats to be added to an upgraded item, as well as its current ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and Crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. The ilvl will also be decreased by the upgrade templates lvl reduction percentage. For example, a weapon with an increase of 8% will decrease its value by 8-8 percent.
In addition to the base ilvl increase, the item will also be upgraded in other stats like critical strike damage, damage from PvE and dodge, block, and parry rating. Those increases are also dependent on the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item receives when leveled up can be observed below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. Aside from practice equipment, all armor and weapons gain the same stats when they are upgraded. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly perfectly rolled version of a piece of armor or weapon able to command much more in trade value than unupp'd versions. The same applies to other armor pieces, such as circlets and tiaras.
